The Map of Ara'niel
The Geographical Map of Ara'niel
Key:
Brown: Mountains
Green: Forests
Blue: Water/Rivers
The Political Map of Ara'niel
Key:
Triangles are for fortresses, Stars for capitals, Squares for major cities, and Circles for cities of lesser importance but still important enough to be marked out on the map
This map is provided courtesy of Aerywyn. If he wishes for us to remove it, we shall.
This is also a Work In Progress, and shall deviate from Aerywyn's original work, though it will largely be kept the same other than the addition of more nations and geological/geographical features.
Updated political map, unpolished version.

A thought on the map. If we have to change it for borders and whatnot, a good idea would be a kind of summary map to be done at the end of a set period of time; say a week if things look busy, a month if not.

Re: The Map of Ara'niel
You mean just edit the map with all of the borders done once, rather than each individually?
Re: The Map of Ara'niel
It would start to look messy if you did it each individually. It is difficult to keep overlaying one would think if you are changing borders.

Re: The Map of Ara'niel
If I edit it using photoshop, and keep all the individual borders on seperate layers, I can put them down, take them off, or edit them as necessary. That isn't so much an issue. It will just have to be re-done once to layerize it all, and that can be done with the blank map, and the "complete" map I posted up for comparison.
So it is a non-issue.
Edit: A single re-write will also let me have a consistent font, because that always bugged the shit out of me.

You'll have to fix the MS paint shenanigans I did for an edit with the Sciras remnants and the port when I post that up some time in the future.
Re: The Map of Ara'niel
I'll just use it as a reference, and put it on the untouched map when I re-do all the others. No problem.

Just a note Imperator still needs an update with regards to it's cities and fortresses and what have you.

Re: The Map of Ara'niel
Could we remove the old outdated political map when we next update the current map?

Re: The Map of Ara'niel
well it might be helpful just to keep it for logs sake...although identifying the most current one would probably be the best idea.

I'll be messing around with maps for a while, although I'd like to see what Tuv comes up with.

Tuv's disappeared for the moment. I'd fetch him but I don't know what account he has on Giant in the Playground.
Re: The Map of Ara'niel
Any chance we could stretch out Imperator so it covers slightly more of the Black Mountains and looks a bit more natural in how it covers the map. Oh, and make it black.

Re: The Map of Ara'niel
Imperator seems to be the only one that doesn't respect natural boundaries. Are the local mountains easy to traverse or something?
Re: The Map of Ara'niel
It had more to do with recognizing the numerous mining colonies in the Spine and the black mountains that are a critical part of Imperator economic and military strength. However, it looks kind of ugly so I'm not sure we should keep it.

Re: The Map of Ara'niel
If Tuv doesn't come back then I may do a completely redone version of the map. Probably using the original sketches that I used to frame it but with a better knowledge of the programs I can use to make it.

We should sticky this so it always remains at the top.

Re: The Map of Ara'niel
Good idea. Also, despite numerous changes of computer and wipes, I manage to still have the original outlines of the map and so can do a nice new version without having to redraw it!

Re: The Map of Ara'niel
Ok I take it bronx is the official mapper guy still, in that case would you care to update the map to include Imperator's proper cities?
