Nacatha stopped mid-step for a moment before placing her foot onto the ground softly, she exhaled slowly trying to sooth her anger. She looked up towards the night sky, after being quiet for a few seconds she lowered her head and started to relax her hands letting them unravel themselves before she turned to Douvel looking apologetic. "I'm sorry Sir...I'm just not comfortable with the whole being held captive situation, let me get my things it will only take me a moment."

She turned back towards her tent before she opened the flap and disappearing inside, once inside she started to gather what few things she had to her name. What wasn't already in her pack she put into it, she had no blankets or anything to lay on so she was somewhat happy try a place that might be more comfortable to sleep. Once she grabbed her stuff she carried the small pack outside before looking around then back to Douvel. "Alright I'm ready."

Douvel sighed inaudibly as the woman calmed and accepted his invitation. He didn’t wish to test the Inquisitor too far considering he would now actually have probable grounds in which to string him up. Even nobility could not protect you from public association with unsanctioned.

And besides as he had said stated before. He did find the woman intriguing. Even if that interest had been put out slightly by the threat of possible staking. He knew some men may have been excited by dangerous women but he did not share their passion.

“Come along then milady. My quarters are not far from here,” Douvel stated gesturing with his arm. Normally he would offer his hand, as was Eadhaolin custom when escorting a woman, but he did not want her to mistake his actions again. Instead he simply walked close in order to dissuade any undesirables from approaching her.

The walk to his camp was short along a broken stone road. Douvel imagined it was some remnant from some ancient kingdom during the Great War now forgotten. The Conclave had done their best to clear the overgrowth of the forest from the road but had not yet taken steps to repair the stonework. It would be sometime before it would be in a position to transport wagon trains to the newly fortified camp but it made travel by foot much easier.

In short order they reached barricaded borders of a new camp somewhere between the beachhead and the newly fortified forward base. Douvel was more than recognized by the guards at the entrance to the camp and they passed in with ease. It was an officer’s camp with large tents clearly denoting people of import surrounding a large healthy fire. A pig was roasting on the spit and the smell of it filled Douvel’s nostrils making his mouth water. Ignoring the cooking meat the Eadhaolin mage moved toward his camp and opened the flap for Nacatha.

“After you milady,” he said with a polite air and a smile.

Nacatha followed after Douvel holding her pack to her chest while crossing her arms around it, a strap hung from it but the bottom of it seemed like it had been pulled hard enough to rip it off the pack rendering it useless. As they walked she dropped back from him but stayed to his right, after she was around a half a foot behind him she stopped dropping back before starting to keep pace with him. At first glance it would like she was his servant by the position she took up behind him.

She glanced back towards the camp as they left it before shrugging to herself before looking back forward, occasionally she would look to her left or right. Once they were inside the officer's camp she seemed to visibly relax as she let her shoulders drop as she exhaled slowly. As the smell of meat being roasted reached her nose she glanced in the direction she thought it came from before shaking her head for a moment. She almost bumped into Douvel as she turned her head back towards the front.

"Thank you.." she walked around him before entering the tent.

There was something about waking up in the morning with a mission to look forward too that just put a certain, pep, in Vander's step. He was so perfectly in his element prepping for a mission it almost made the mission itself seem anti-climatic.

But today was a special case indeed, for today he would see his latest source of curiosity active in the field, oh how he could hardly wait as he gathered the men chosen for today's operation together.

His personal Blade, Captain Marcus of course, as well as an escort of 7 Tyrvoldians, led by a Brash young Captain who had the typical Tripohlian charisma and infectious optimism, so much so that you almost wanted to strangle the poor fellow.

That left three more too collect, and he suspected two of them were residing right in front of him. After all Douvel was by no means a stupid man, and as not a stupid man he would know good and well NOT to let that poor naive rouge mage out of his sight, or risk the wrath of the Conclave.

"Douvel my good man, Rise and Shine," said Vander, announcing his presence as poked his head through the flap of the tent, "Come now we've work to do and we can't have the linch pin of our operations sleeping away..."

There were a few things Douvel truly hated. Hot humid days, every male peasant he had ever met, and the Woadian playwright Wilhelm Spearshaker. But what he hated above everything else was being waken up before he was ready in the morning. Vanders sing song voice felt like a cheese grader being scrapped against his ears.

As Douvel picked himself off the pile of fine thick furs, he wondered if Vander knew how close he was to death. Douvel had half a mind to cash it all in then, if only to end the life of the insolent morning caller. It had taken him enough time as it was to get to sleep on the floor, he had abdicated his imported bed to allow lady Nacatha to sleep there, but now this bastard had to wake him up.

"As you command you lowly son of a goatsucker-" yelled Douvel in response as he moved to dress himself. The litany of insults only growing more crass as he aired his exact opinion of the esteemed Inquisitor Vander.

Later, he would likely be mortified by his behavior but in that moment...in that moment he didn't really give a damn. Douvel was not a morning person.

Nacatha tried to insist that Douvel take his own bed before giving up before it turned into an argument. Vander's voice wasn't the thing that shocked her away, when Douvel yelled back at Vander she set up quickly in shock her eyes snapping open as she looked around yawning before stretching. She had slept in her dress so she wasnt worried about being exposed to a man. "What was with the yelling.." She spoke sleepily looking over to him, her hands were exposed since the first time met but he couldn't yet see the damage on her hands, the tattoos on her forearms were explosed however since she had pulled the cloth that was wrapped over them off before she went to sleep.

She started to climb out of the bed and pull on her shoes, once she was done putting her shoes on she started to pull her gloves on before looking back towards Douvel. "I have a feeling HE is outside....am i right?"

It seemed that Vander had misjudged Douvel somewhat, truly he had not expected such an impassioned and rather creative stream of expletives. A pleasant surprise he would call it, though he had expected some manner of unpleasantness, hense why he had dinged to fetch Douvel himself.

Among other reasons.

"Why yes madam, you are most accurate, and a good morrow to you as well," said Vander as he invited himself into the tent, bowing mirthfully and deeply once to the lady, "I wish I could stay and chat but we all have quite a day ahead of us I'm afraid."

"Douvel," he said clearly in his 'Inquisitor' voice, "when your quite done using such improper language in front of the young lady, you'll kindly make ready to present both yourself, and our mutual acquaintance, before Lord Inquistor Stockly and the Crusades military council. They've a field assignment that you've volunteered for...or perhaps 'voluntold' would be a better word. "

He said it simply, a bit of a disarmingly charming smile playing about his lips, "Do try and stress the importance of not making a scene in front of Lord Stockly to lady Nacatha here, I would be most pressed to continue protecting you both if she was to start flaunting her naivety, no offense intended, about before the heads of the Crusade. A most ironic why to condemn one's self I think."

He smiled again, still with a charm that seemed somewhat misplaced on an inquisitor, before he waltzed up to Douvel, slapping him on the back in a manner of reassurance, camaraderie, and a bit of playfulness, "But I'm sorry to say I must be off, I have one more member of our future expedition to round up. Do try not to keep the council waiting, and, wear something red, the Lord Inquisitor likes red I believe."

He whistled his way back to the tent flap, turning only once to bow deeply in departure to Lady Nacatha, "Milady, always a pleasure, and I assure you, you and I shall have our talk before the day is done."

And with that he made his exit, whistling a merry tune and with a certain jaunt in his step.

Douvel was dumbstruck as Vander pointed out his behavior in front of Nacatha. What kind of simple blooded thing was he? Cursing was all fine and good but to make such statements in front of a woman. Douvel's face began to turn red. The Inquisitors following insults and vain displays of authority were as expected, but it seemed the mornings surprises were not quite over, as not a second later, Vander leaned over and slapped Douvel on the back. Douvel arched his back in reaction to the hand. Had that commoner just…touched him? He quickly back peddled away, in case the man tried any other such familial actions, but the Inquisitor was already walking out the door bidding ado to the tattooed woman.

Douvel turned to her as well, when the Inquisitor was gone, and made a genuine bow, "I apologize for my language milady. You'll forgive me I was not expecting such a visitor this early in the morning."

The term "early morning" was a bit of a stretch. Bright light shone clearly through the tent flap in a land where the early morning was almost always covered in mist. But that particular fact was sincerely lost on the Eadhaolin mage.

Douvel moved again toward the great dark oak dresser that held his robes, the long shirt and undershirt he had slept in protecting most of his modesty, and asked, "How are you this morning? I hope you slept well. I had that bed imported from my families estate. Cost me a pretty penny but you just can't beat goose feather comforters."

Shifting through the dresser he continued, "You will of course be allowed to partake in my own wardrobe for your attire. You cannot possibly approach the Lord Inquisitor in yesterdays garments and I promise what I have will be of far better make then any extra change of clothes you have."

The Inquisitor had mentioned red hadn't? Douvel thought to himself as he continued to plot his attire. These were important decisions.

Nacatha sighed ignoring most of what Vander said, she stretched again before running a hand through her hair trying to straight it the best she could. She looked back to Douvel, "Ill be fine in this...but if you insist...which i know you will...also the bed is nice one of the best nights sleeps I've had in a long time..." she sighed again before moving over to his wardrobe before starting to look through it trying to find something that would fit her. She sighed lightly for a moment as she looked. "So I'm guessing this guy we are supose to be seeing is important to Vander?"

Conclave Crusade - Page 2 Empty Re: Conclave Crusade

Post by MidgetNinja Wed Jul 06, 2011 11:13 pm

An expedition into unknown and enemy controlled territory required many a thing, though if success was to be had, a scout was chief among those.

While the Crusade's resources were vast, and there were no shortages of scouts, only one had been recommended for this particular mission.

There was little known about him, save for the fact that he was a mercenary, and he was damn good at what he did. Punctual, proficient, and professional all the three P's required of Vander's associates, his name was Ezsrah, an archaic name to be sure, the Arch Inquisitor was still attempting to deduce as much as he could about the man in question, despite how little he had been given to work with.

He was brought back to reality quickly when he stumbled upon the man in question, apparently some kind of post waking ritual. He was dressed simply, a tunic, leggings, bandages covering palms, writs and forearms, a hooded cloak draped over his shoulders, clearly more for camouflage then still judging by the wear, and a sword of simple but elegant make hung at his waist.

When Vander looked upon him, he felt as if something was...off, as if something was only showing him what he was meant to see. It was interesting, but mostly a groundless curiosity so he quickly pushed it aside.

"My good man," he called in greeting, catching his eyes now, a shade of yellow...spiking his curiosity again, but he had stranger things turn about to be nothing, "We have business to discuss..."

Conclave Crusade - Page 2 Empty Re: Conclave Crusade

Post by CromTheConqueror Wed Jul 06, 2011 11:35 pm

(Had to post on my dinky phone so no complaints on quality)

"Important to Vander? Important to us. Important to everyone on this expedition. Important to the monsters outside these walls as he is the man charged with killing them all. He is the leader of this expedition. And one of the most powerful men in the Conclave."

Douvel stopped as he finished adjusting the leather tunic he had just adorned. "And on that topic. Tell no one you know not of the Conclave. These people you are among. Vander and myself. We are all Conclave men. They are a powerful order of mages responsible for bringing much stability to the lands and preventing the use of rogue magic. But they can sometimes be overzealous in their approach. Anyone outside of the Conclave who practices magic, meaning you, is considered unsanctioned and unless protected is killed. Vanders seems content to keep your secret now but we cannot trust him. From now on you are my cousin from Ellandum. You certaintly are pretty enough. And cover those tatoos as best you can...though I doubt he has not heard of them at this point. He still does not need to be shown who you are."

As he finished his instructions Douvel, who had been dressing the entire time, turned to her. His tunic and breeches were of light leather and snug across his body. Though a mage and a member of nobility none could say he was not at least in good shape and his considerable height (at least for an Eadhaolin) of six feet and two inches only added to his stature. Over the leather jerkin he wore a white flannel shirt that formed perfectly over the tougher travel material. Across this he had adorned a blood red robe that cut off just above the ankles. It was made of fine wool but looked thick enough to last through so wear. Douvel looked at Nacatha with cutting clue eyes, his shorter but clearly growing dark brown locks not impairing his vision in the slightest. He was older than he looked but was old enough in of himself to mantain his mature appearance. Clean shaven he smiled revealing perfectly white teeth and asked, "How do I look?"

Nacatha looked at him cocking her head to the side as she looked at him "Look like an overconfident master...." she turned away from him looking through the wardrobe again. "I cant seem to find anything that would fit me..also hes important to you..not me...wait you said your a mage? Then...where are your tattoos don't you need them?" She looked at him genuinely confused she stopped looking through his wardrobe to look at him starting to move back to the bed after a moment to retrieve the two pieces of cloth she had worn on her arms the day before from under the pillows starting to wrap them around her arm. "Does it...hurt.....when you use magic?"

Douvel was a bit hurt by Nacatha's tone but perked up when he heard master. Master? He looked like a master! He didn't possess a mirror in which to truly regard himself but he smiled once again. A master.

But her next words concerned him. "Nacatha he is very important to you," Douvel chided, "If he finds out what you are he will kill you do you understand?"

He moved back to the wardrobe to help find her something but stopped as she asked him about magic. Douvel remained poised as she questioned him but inside his heart pounded. This was what he had been waiting for him.

"Do you need tatoos to cast magic?"

Nacatha looked at him before shrugging. "Hes a tyrant...that doesn't mean hes important to me just because he can have me killed...and yes...they are how i use magic .." she went back to the bed sitting on the edge as she looked at him sighing again. "I think we might need to just stop worrying about what I'm wearing...really dont want Vander coming back here to check on us...." she sighed again looking towards the tent's flap.

Conclave Crusade - Page 2 Empty Re: Conclave Crusade

Post by MidgetNinja Fri Jul 08, 2011 1:23 am

It was an interesting experience for Ezsrah to see a man so entirely full of contradictions. Here he was an Arch Inquisitor of the Conclave, a position notorious for it's grim no nonsense disposition, and yet this Vander spoke and carried himself with a sort of quaint affability.

And the questions, at least the questions that had little to nothing to do with the business he spoke of, it was as if he was less concerned with the answer and more concerned with how the answer was delivered...

His name, his home, the import of his tattoos, and most troubling was the way he looked at Ezsrah's sword.

Adulv (OOC:His sword, changed the name, sounds less generic I think) had assured him none would be able to detect his presence within the Blade, or in fact the unique nature of Ezsrah physiology.

And every so often as they made their way to this 'briefing' Ezsrah caught his escort casting curious glances at both him and his sword, as if he wasn't quite buying what he was seeing.

Adulv had been silent sense he appeared, stirring only once to quite cryptically state that Vander could 'see' him, which wasn't that hard to do sense he was seemingly just a sword after all.

He regretted his position in this Crusade for a moment, before he cast it aside. For the first time in too long he had been offered a lead on his target, and if this was the path he must follow to get it, then he would, and no overly observant Inquisitor would stand between him...

He cleared his mind at that, his rage unwittingly causing his personal monster to stir a bit, and he couldn't have that, not now as he was being lead before the Commanders of this Crusade.

Vitrik spied on the ruined city of Viga. Long, long ago, it had served as the gateway toward a new life. All the legends spoke of the same journey, of a troubled people marching towards freedom, coming from the north by sea to found this kingdom.

Now Viga was unable to bear the weight of civilization. A small group of people had lived here, tending dutifully to the historical city and surviving off of the nearby river. Even then the city had been in severe disrepair, but after the lesser-blooded had turned feral the population was wiped away.

Vitrik saw the movement of people in the city from his elevated vantage point. He knew they were neither Kailzim nor Kait'el, at least not any Kait'el from Kaim's domain. The word is that they are from the northlands, though what brought them is uncertain.

There were some visitors from the northlands many seasons ago, but they had left on great terms. Several of the Kailzim, Vitrik included, suspected that the entire thing might be Voldum's fault. It was a poorly kept secret that Voldum, who had once been Kaim's primary advisor, was exiled. Many of the hunting parties had spotted him as he left to the east and north, and his absence at court had confirmed it. Some also believed that Voldum, not Kaim, had killed Kaim's half-blooded daughter under orders. Kaim could no longer look at Voldum the same and sent him away. Vitrik wouldn't stretch the story that far.

No matter what the cause, there were now many humans occupying Viga and loaded for war. Vitrik mentally counted the hunting parties and patrols as far north as Piotren and estimated the strength of these newcomers. Even with the Royal Guard, there would not be enough warriors to defend the kingdom. He feared it would take Kaim's presence to be able to drive these invaders away.

Perhaps, though, that would never be necessary. Kaim had spoken his orders. Everything must be done to preserve the kingdom. If these invaders wanted the lands of Kailzimoth, they would experience the terror of the land themselves.

Vitrik edged away from his position, sneaking back towards Briena and the rest of his hunting party. By Kaim's will, the invaders of the north will be awash with blood, and the Wraiths will swarm to consume the rest.

Douvel nodded to Nacatha's words not really paying them any heed. He was far too busy picking out robes for the woman.

"Here!" he exclaimed as he drew forth Nacatha's long sleeved future wear.

It was made of a deep scarlet red wool with white linen cuffs at the end of the armlets. White linen also adorned the edges of the robes in the center from the top of the dress –which was despite Douvel's normal tastes were a high cut starting at her neck- down to the very bottom just below her knees similar to Douvel's. In addition there was a long white shash with a buckle that would be used to keep the garment tight and offer less hinderment to her movements.

"This will look ravishing my dear," Douvel stated as he offered it to her, "Quickly now. We don't have much time before the meeting is liable to begin. And the Lord Inquisitor loathes unpunctuality."

She sighed after picking up he was paying attention to her before rolling her eyes, she started to fiddle with the torn part of her dress again before she looked up at him to see the dress he picked out. She seemed to look at him in shock for a moment before starting to open her mouth in protest before she sighed and took the dress from him before laying it down on the bed. She looked over her shoulder at him "Wait outside while I dress." She waited till he was gone to strip and start to don the dress.

"I hope no one from home will see me in this...really don't feel being executed for wearing an Inscriber's dress....Grandfather said this was going to be difficult..." After a few minutes of dressing she stepped outside the tent pulling at the neckline of the dress, she was obviously not use to wearing this kind of dress. Her gloves were still on her hands. "Lets go....before I decide to change back into my dress..."

Conclave Crusade - Page 2 Empty Re: Conclave Crusade

Post by MidgetNinja Sun Jul 10, 2011 12:30 am

It was in the decayed ruins of what might have once been a courtyard in, what Inquisitor Dolf assured everyone with the patience to listen to his excited prattle, this dead cities central Keep.

The position offered many tactical and bureaucratic advantages afforded it central location, the nigh useless bits of trivia Dolf poured through with fanatical devotion not withstanding, it made for an excellent for Lord Inquisitor Stockly to establish his beach head's HQ, and an appropriately atmospheric for any missions of such import to be briefed by the heads of the Crusade.

After all, how better to remind the men what they were fighting to prevent then standing in the crumbling reminder of the price of failure.

As it were most debris had been cleared from the relatively flat area, a suitably grand table had been set in the center, atop which laying all manner of important looking maps, reports, and other such papers.

Three men stood on the side of the table opposite the designated entrance to the HQ, gathered about the papers discussing amongst themselves in a calm tone of carefully weighed thoughts and opinions. In the center, clearly marked by the Emblem of a Lord Inquisitor, stood Stockly, looking as serious and dour as ever. To his right stood Inquisitor Dolf, appointed aide to the Lord Inquisitor, in charge of interpreting field intelligence, his face a mixture of barely contained excitement and curiosity. To his left stood a man of silver hair, and a worn and weathered face, armored with a leather jerkin, and chain mail beneath that, the cape draped over his Shoulder marked him as the Praetorian Knight attached to the Tyrvoldian forces accompanying the Crusade, his emblem marked his rank as a Master of his order. Despite his rather grim visage he seemed possibly the most approachable of the group, as only a leader of soldiers could.

It was good for Vander to note these things before he announced his presence, it would make the upcoming briefing all the more survivable if he knew the disposition of the men giving it.

"Lord Stockly, gentlemen," he announced himself at the last, with a simple nod of respect to party in question, who were to quick to mirror it.

"Vander," said Stockly simply in greeting, not bothering to look up from what he was looking at as he waved him off to the side where two others stood, Captain Marcus, and the overtly youthful Captain of the Union soldiers he had met earlier.

He and Ezsrah moved to stand with them, as the three men were soon joined a menagerie of other important looking individuals filing into the tent from a back entrance obscured in shadow.

Pre-Meeting, grumblings ensued as the usual questions made their rounds before Douvel and his charge decided to show up, right on time, and wearing red, which made Vander smile to himself quite a bit, as Stockly once again barely acknowledged their presence before waving them off to sit as he had Vander.

the murmers were still going strong, but a few tell tale signs were showing that the meeting was about to be called to order...

Conclave Crusade - Page 2 Empty Re: Conclave Crusade

Post by CromTheConqueror Sun Jul 10, 2011 1:46 am

Douvel stepped into the room in front of Nacatha a playful smile on his lips. It wasn’t because he was particularly happy. In fact he hated this. He was sick and tired of not being in control of his own fate and playing lap dog to the Conclave. He was tired of Vander and his taunts. He despised not sleeping in his own bed. And he was afraid “field assignment” was just another word for a scouting mission that would see them all dead – though he took some small comfort in knowing that at least Vander would die along with him. No, Douvel was not happy at all.

But he’d see himself off before he let any of these seviente know it. Besides; Nacatha really did look quite stunning in that outfit. It may have been very concealing but the tight cloth did much to emphasis her figure. Not all of his grin was being faked.

Spying Vander he made his way over to him. A tall swordsman stood with him though Douvel did not recognize him in the slightest. It was clear, from his attire that he was not a man of standing. Though Douvel assumed that to be here, he must at least be a man of some skill. Nearby, however, were men of clear considerable standing.

He recognized the stalwart Tryvoldian commander Trivick instantly. Unlike Lord Inquisitor Stockly and Inquisitor Dolf, both of whom he had met upon arriving here, he had yet to lay eyes on the renown commander as of yet. But there was no mistaking the cape marking him as a Praetorian Knight. Back in Eadhaolin, Douvel had even heard of the commander, the man responsible for putting down the infamous rebellion in the Sword States five years ago. Though civil war was not uncommon in that tumultuous land, this one was unique, in that it held the support of independent mage guilds. Mage guilds that promised their unconditional support in exchange for the rebels throwing off the shackles of Conclave control as a reward when in power. It could have led to disastrous long term struggle were it not for the quick work of Trivick, who upon discovering the plot, had led the small garrison under his command in a surprise attack against the would be usurpers. With rebels caught off guard he quickly rounded up their ring leaders, including many mages of the independent guilds, after a pitched razor edged victory.

The tale was spread by the Conclave throughout the mainland and Trivick was made a Praetorian Knight under Conclave pressure despite lacking the noble blood many considered necessary to be made one. It appeared that title had led Trivick to be given the field commander of the Conclave crusade in this cursed night claimed land. That in of itself told all Douvel he could expect to get in return for his service to the Conclave in this expedition.

Shaking his head slightly Douvel made his way over to Vanders.

“Vanders my friend. How pleasant it is to see you once more this fine morn,” he said quietly while maintaining the straightest face he knew possible.

Conclave Crusade - Page 2 Empty Re: Conclave Crusade

Inquisitor Alexander stood silent in the presence of such strong company. He was a man bordering between late adulthood and early middle-age. He kept his face hidden under his white cloak, his clothing repeatedly woven with the name "Sazil" to mark whose division he belonged to.

Alexander was with the Crusade under the orders of Sazil. His duty was to ensure his master's will be maintained wherever the Conclave might exert its power... and beyond. Specifically, he was on the lookout for certain interesting features amongst the people within the Crusade.

He acknowledged the presence of his two hired Vëannëlanders and a friendly Inquisitor as they entered the meeting area and joined him at his side. The other Inquisitor had recently graduated to the title, and was the younger brother to another Inquisitor who had passed in Sazil's service. While Alexander had blonde hair and green eyes, Terristria (he had always preferred to be called by his last name) had more generic features of brown hair and brown eyes. He wasn't as tall as Alexander, and wasn't as portly as his older brother. Alexander had a feeling that Terristria would make an excellent Inquisitor, given that he remained in Sazil's service.

The group eyed the young tattooed woman as she entered. She was certainly an interesting specimen, one Sazil would delight in having the opportunity to meet, but she did not bear peculiar glowing eyes. She wasn't a priority, but Alexander made a mental note to approach her later and come to some sort of deal.

The way they gravitated to Vander's side, though, and the nature of the infuriating Arch Inquisitor, would certainly prove the negotiations... delicate.

Douvel wasn't the only unhappy person in the room, Nacatha continued to tug at the neckline of the dress she was forced to wear. -Well I don't see anyone like me so I think I'm in the clear on that...- She sighed as she glanced around the room looking over at Vander for a moment before quickly looking away, -I hate this dress, I hate these Conclave assholes for keeping me prisoner then treating me like I'm not.- She sighed raising her hands up to her head rubbing her temples in circles with her thumbs. She was well aware that a small group of men were watching her intently as she entered, she looked towards the group but not at them after a moment off watching them watch her she adverted her eyes slowly as if she had been scanning the crowd slowly.

-For a man that seems to hate Vander so much Douvel always seems to be eager to talk to him...why I cant fathom..- She had a rather bored look on her face as she followed Douvel as he walked up to Vander. She looked around the room again as she lowered her hands letting them rest on her stomach locking her hands together as she muttered to herself softly her eyes closing for a moment. After a few moments her body which had been tense seemed to visibly relax before she opened her eyes again keeping her hands against her stomach.

She looked at Vander for a moment -If only there was a thunderstorm raging overhead you arrogant ass...all the pain and the death that followed would be so small compared to the joy of wiping you off the earth..- The thought brought a smile to her face as she looked at him before she looked at the other two men that were with him.

Vander was a man of the world so to speak, he had seen and experienced more things in his life then most people could fathom, and that was an understatement.

And the way he choose to live that life of the World, often meant he was more familiar with that 'I've just killed you in my mind' smile then was entirely healthy.

That said it was quite entrancing upon the lips of Nacatha, so he favored her smile with one of his own, almost as if he was daring her to act on those little fantasies of hers.

But Douvel was standing right next to her, greeting him as if they were best friends as any politically savvy man would, and teasing him suddenly became top priority.

"Ah Douvel," he said, turning away from Nacatha, his smile of danger and daring becoming charming and affable, as he shook the nobleman's unoffered hand and slapped the shoulder of that stolen handshake with a certain zest, "The pleasure is all mine I assure you..." he said, not lying, "Glad you could make it, we do have so much to catching up to do when we have a free moment..." he ventured very subtly implying the young lady no longer smiling at him like death.

No now she was looking quite pointedly at Marcus, and Ezsrah...the first of which was a bit too busy giving the stink eye to the Sazil fan club across the room to notice her.

The other however was having a little trouble not noticing her...

Taking in the telling little details with the eyes of a hunter, the way she carried her self, the way her dress conflicted with her well worn gloves, the pulling at her collar...

"You look like you'd rather chew off your own arm then be here, wearing that," he said simply in a low tone he was sure only she could here, "If it makes you feel any better, I'm probably as uncomfortable."

He smiled just a bit at that, in a manner that he hoped came off as friendly, he was decidedly out of practice in that area...

"Ezsrah," he said simply by way of introduction, offering his hand as an after thought.

Douvel held is smile as the Arch Inquisitor grabbed his hand and even managed to keep it strong as Vander thumped his shoulder in a sign of camaraderie. Frankly he had expected it and was far more prepared than before.

“You’re too kind as always Vander,” Douvel replied glibly as he agilely repositioned himself out of reach of Vander’s mocking paws, “I must say I’m looking forward to travelling with such a glorified…well glorified might not be the right word. Distinguished? Too strong. Notable? No, hardly appropriate.”

Douvel’s tone was complimentary and sincere as he spoke and at complete odds with his actual words. “Well an Inquisitor at any rate,” he finished grinning.

He glanced over slightly to see Nacatha being greeted by the tall swordsman and frowned. For some reason it bothered him to see the ruggishly handsome man talking to her. Douvel shook the strange thought from his mind quickly though and focused again on Vander.

“So what is this all about?” he asked, his warm tone breaking noticeably, before resuming once more, “And who are those men over their?”

Douvel gestured to the small party sitting at their side, two men who looked liked Vëannëlanders, another two clearly Inquisitor.

“Future companions of ours?”

Nacatha looked towards the man who spoke to her glancing towards Vander before leaning over to the swordsman and whispering to him. "Yes I would but at least you can leave this place when you wish..I'm not exactly here of my own free will.." She leaned away from him glancing back towards Vander and Douvel before looking back at Ezsrah. "Nacatha."
